Passion for Horses

Lifelong horsewoman Sue Gamble and forensic scientist Emma Tod came together with a shared goal-to make early laminitis detection easier. Sue’s hands-on equine experience and Emma’s scientific expertise led to Lami- TAG, a simple, reliable tool to take the guesswork out of pulse detection. Driven by their passion for horse welfare, they’re on a mission to help owners act fast and keep their horses healthy.

Sue's Story: A Lifelong Passion for Horses Turned into Innovation

Sue Gamble has been around horses her whole life. From owning and competing in different disciplines to working with racehorses, she has always understood the deep connection between horses and their owners. But she also knows how devastating it is when a beloved horse suffers-especially from something as painful and unpredictable as laminitis.

Sue’s experience made her realize that early detection is key, but finding a horse’s digital pulse can be tricky, even for experienced horse owners. That’s what led her to co-found Lami-TAG. She wanted to create a tool that would help horse owners spot potential issues sooner, giving them the confidence to act fast and protect their horses.

Bringing Lami-TAG to market is something Sue is truly excited about. She believes in it wholeheartedly because she knows first-hand how important it is to have reliable, easy-to-use tools when caring for horses. For her, this isn’t just about technology -it’s about giving owners peace of mind and ensuring horses get the best care possible.

Emma's Story: A Forensic Scientist's Mission to Help Horses

Emma Tod is a forensic scientist by trade, but a horse lover at heart. Her background in science meant she spent years analyzing data and uncovering hidden details. But when it came to her own pony, Ruby, she found herself struggling with a problem that many horse owners face-managing laminitis.

Growing up, Ruby suffered from frequent bouts of laminitis, and Emma experienced the frustration of not knowing exactly when an episode might strike. This personal experience, combined with her scientific mindset, drove her to find a better way.

Together with Sue, Emma developed Lami-TAG, a device that makes detecting digital pulses simple and accurate. She knows how tricky it can be to find a pulse, even for experienced horse owners, and she wanted to take the guesswork out of the process.
For Emma, Lami-TAG is about more than just technology-it’s about empowering horse owners with the tools they need to act fast and keep their horses happy and healthy.
